Flight of the Flags provides families of deceased service men and women, as well as first responders, who have received trifold flags in their honor an opportunity to “fly” those flags onboard a WWII aircraft at no charge. Flight of the Flags only flies the flags, not family members.
A WWII Douglas DC-3 will take off at Noon transcending over Lorain County veterans memorials including the Carlisle Township and North Ridgeville Veteran Memorials. The flight should last about 45 minutes.
The Lorain County Veterans Service Commission will provide complimentary protective sleeves for your flags so no need to bring any glass or special cases for your flag.
Anyone bringing in flags must have them there by 11 am. All parking & entrance fees to the event are waived for those bringing flags.
